Question 1

What's the difference between a reunion and a get-together?

Accepted Answer

A reunion means reconnecting with people you already know, an old batch, an old neighborhood, an old team. A get-together, in the way we use it, means building a new social circle from scratch, without necessarily sharing any past with the group at all. Depending on the circle, this kind of gathering also goes by batch reunion, alumni meet-up, homecoming, or simply function, different words for the same thing: people who already know each other, back in one room. This guide covers reunions specifically. If you're an expat, diplomat, international staff member, or student building a community in Dhaka rather than reconnecting with an old one, our guide to expat and international community events in Dhaka covers that instead.

Question 2

How far in advance should a reunion in Dhaka be planned?

Accepted Answer

For local groups, four to six weeks is usually enough. For reunions involving NRB friends flying in, plan around their travel dates first, ideally two to three months ahead.

Question 3

Can a small reunion of ten or twelve people be planned professionally, or is that too small?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Reunion sizes we've coordinated range from small, intimate gatherings to large batch-wide events. Group size doesn't change how seriously the event is handled.

Question 4

How do you plan a reunion when half the group lives abroad?

Accepted Answer

The date gets fixed around the visiting members' travel window first, then local logistics are built around that fixed date. This is the same approach we use for NRB wedding and event planning.

Question 5

Can a cadet college or medical college batch reunion include a formal element alongside the social one?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many of these reunions want to preserve institutional elements, an entry march, a formal toast, a tribute segment, alongside the informal dinner and conversation. Both can coexist in the same evening.

Question 6

Do reunions need to be at a restaurant, or can they happen somewhere more private?

Accepted Answer

Both work. Some groups prefer a private venue for a more relaxed, unfiltered evening. Others prefer a well-known restaurant setting. The right choice depends on group size and how candid the group wants to be able to be.

Question 7

What if the group can't agree on a venue or date?

Accepted Answer

This is the single most common reason reunions stall indefinitely. Assigning two or three decision-makers, rather than putting every choice to a group vote, is usually what breaks the deadlock.

Question 8

What makes Look N Feel different for planning a reunion?

Accepted Answer

Look N Feel - Event Solutions has been planning events in Dhaka since October 2016, with 800+ events delivered and 5-star ratings across Google, Facebook, and Trustpilot. Roughly 40% of our clients plan from abroad, so coordinating around travel dates and NRB timelines is a routine part of how we work, not an exception.
