Do Women-Led Teams Understand Clients Better? A Founder’s Honest Answer
People ask me this sometimes. Honestly, being a woman or a man doesn’t automatically make someone a good event planner. Skill in this work comes from experience, attention, and how closely you actually listen, not from gender on its own.
But as a woman-led team, there’s one thing I think we’ve gotten especially good at: what a client says is rarely the whole picture.

What Clients Say vs. What They Actually Mean
A bride might tell me, “I want something simple.” But her Pinterest board, her colour choices, her outfit selections, and a dozen small preferences tell a different story, she actually wants something minimal, but luxurious.
A mother might say, “Just make the stage beautiful.” But her real priority might be perfect family photographs with her children, comfortable seating for the elders, and guests being able to move around with ease.
An NRB client might say, “Just handle everything.” But what she actually means is that she wants to feel completely at peace, even from thousands of miles away.
This is where event planning stops being just decoration. It becomes people management, observation, communication, and emotional intelligence.
Is This a Trait, or a Trained Skill?
I want to be honest about this, because it matters. I don’t think women are naturally better at reading people, and I’d be careful of anyone who claims that as fact. What I’ve noticed, running a woman-led team through hundreds of events, is something narrower: we’ve built a culture around noticing the unspoken layer of a request, not just the words in it. That’s a habit we’ve practiced deliberately, not something that comes automatically with being a woman.
I say this partly because I know the assumption still exists, in Bangladesh and elsewhere, that a woman-led business is somehow less capable or less serious than one led by men. That assumption is wrong, and the way to answer it isn’t with a bigger claim about gender. It’s by doing the work well, consistently, and letting that speak for itself.

In My Experience
A good event planner isn’t the one who talks the most. A good event planner is the one who understands what a client didn’t say out loud. That’s the standard I hold my team to, regardless of who’s on it. And it’s the perspective a woman-led team, built around that habit of noticing, has genuinely brought to how we work. If you’re trying to figure out what to actually look for when choosing someone for your own event, our guide on choosing the right wedding or event planner in Dhaka goes into that in more detail.
Every event has a vision. Our job is to understand the person behind it.
A Female Wedding and Event Planner in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Look N Feel – Event Solutions is a female-led wedding and event planning company based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We work across weddings, Gaye Holud, corporate events, and private celebrations, for local families as well as clients planning from abroad. The perspective described in this piece, noticing what a client doesn’t say directly, is something we’ve built as a team practice, and it shapes how we approach every event we take on, regardless of scale or type.
Some families also tell us they simply feel more comfortable working directly with a female planner, for reasons that are personal to them, religious, cultural, or otherwise. This comes up often around bridal preparation, women-only gatherings like Gaye Holud or Mehendi, and conversations with the women of the household about details they’d rather not discuss with a man they don’t know. We don’t assume this matters to every client, but for the families it does matter to, we understand why, and we make sure they never have to explain it or ask twice.
